(Because it probably means I got your email wrong.) Good news! This morning, Audible sent me some codes for free audiobooks, so I'm going to be giving away some copies of Unsouled on audio! Here's the deal: comment on this post (here on the blog) and tell me about your favorite character in any book ever. When you comment, make sure to use an email address you check, because TONIGHT I'm going to pick 10 random comments and email you each a promo code to download Unsouled for free! (You can use it yourself or give it away!) DISCLAIMER: The code only works on Audible.com, NOT Audible.co.uk. I'm going to have a separate giveaway for U.K. codes, so if you're in the U.K., save your comments for next time! As for people who are in neither the US nor UK...I think it depends on whether you use Audible.com or Audible.co.uk. If you get your audiobooks from Audible.com, these codes are for you! So let's see your comments below! I'll be picking winners when I wake up tomorrow morning, so you only have tonight! Go nuts! -Will

I know I said the Unsouled audiobook was coming soon, and it turns out it was coming very soon, because the audiobook for the first book in the Cradle series is available now on Audible!
I'm really excited about this one, because unlike my Traveler's Gate audiobooks, this one is narrated by an actual professional! Travis Baldree was my first choice for a narrator, he was a pleasure to work with, and IMHO he did a fantastic job. You should check out his previous work...though I especially recommend his most recent work. The audio production process was quick and painless this time, and we're already in the early stages of Soulsmith. If you buy book one now, book two will not be a long wait. Sorry I couldn't say that for Traveler's Gate fans, but that narrator was far less reliable than Travis is. So, if you're into audiobooks or you know someone who is, check it out! Enjoy! And let me know what you think! -Will (P.S. I've shared in the past that it's better for me and my rankings if you buy the book ASAP. That is still true on ACX, however, I know that Audible is weird and sometimes it's better to wait a month for a new credit. If you can buy it now and you want to, great! If you can't now or don't want an audiobook at all, nbd! You're still my favorite.) Painted by the supernaturally skilled Micah Epstein, the new covers for the Elder Empire series are now live on Amazon!
The newly re-covered paperbacks are not available yet (but will be up in the next few days), and the interior of the ebooks is no different. I will be cleaning up the first four books before the release of Kings / Killers, but that hasn't happened yet. But I couldn't wait any longer to share ALL the art with you, so here we go! Posters will soon be available from the Merch store, and prints from the artist (who is, once again, Micah Epstein) will be available for purchase soon as well! And now, for your viewing pleasure, all six covers for the Elder Empire series! (Click Read More to view) -Will I'm turning 29 today!
To celebrate crossing half a million total sales (which happened a few months ago), we're doing something special for my birthday: I'm taking my family out to Victoria & Albert's restaurant tonight! Also, for a truly classy celebratory experience, we went to see The Meg. No spoilers, but I went into it wanting to see Jason Statham in hand-to-hand combat with a giant shark, and my birthday wish was granted. Thanks for reading Ghostwater! -Will I've spent last week and this week holed up in a cabin doing nothing but writing. That always makes it hard for me to say anything on the site, because the update "I'm writing" doesn't seem complete enough.
That's all I'm doing: plugging away. Hitting keys with my fingers while watching pictures in my head. There's been major progress made on the Unsouled audiobook and minor progress on the City of Light audiobook, but I can't say anything more specific than that right now because neither is ready to be uploaded yet (although Unsouled will be soon). The Elder Empire covers have been done for a few months now, but I'm waiting to reveal them all so that I can change out the current ebook and paperback covers at the same time as the full reveal, and that's taking a while. The books are slowly taking shape on my laptop and in my brain. I have no update to the progress meter because quite honestly I don't know if I'm making forward progress or lateral progress. However, here's a cool and random thing: I continue to learn how to outline better. Usually I spend way too much time outlining, because when I start writing I'm just going to deviate from the outline anyway. This time, I've locked down more points so that I can't deviate as much. And, uh...that's it. I feel bad, because I want to share more with you, but I've been 100% submerged in writing since I got back from St. Louis. I figured a "Hey, I'm writing" update was better than nothing, so at the very least you all could know where my head is. You all are great, thanks for reading, and I'll share more as soon as I emerge from my writing-pod. -Will |
