But what if you say the names the right way instead of how my brain interprets them! Okay you twisted my arm...

Shera, Lazy and ruthless is the now is the mc on the side of the anti- Elder side.
8/28/2018 12:16:02 pm
I like our main homies, Lindin, Yerin and Eithan. London is so sweet but hella determined, Yerin is basically the best bassass around and Eithan is cocky yet charming. Love them all!
8/28/2018 12:19:18 pm
Favorite character ever? Why do you ask us impossible questions?
8/28/2018 12:20:23 pm
gotta give it to my man, Lindon. Seeing him growing up these past five books have been amazing! Always being dragged into trouble when he wants to take time and analyze things.
8/28/2018 12:21:43 pm
I have not read cradle because I only have time for audio books. So I will pick Kai from the travelers gate series. His relationship with the dolls and whimsical additude always make me chucke. Also the voicework for him in the book is the best.
8/28/2018 12:26:36 pm
Tough question, I'd say Dalinar from Stormligh archives, especially after seeing his past in Oathbringer.
8/28/2018 12:35:25 pm
Any book ever is bonkers. I'm limiting it to Cradleverse. That makes Eithan the easyyyyy choice.
8/28/2018 12:47:33 pm
has to be elder whisper for me. being abke to talk and eat at the sane time is pretty OP
8/28/2018 12:56:31 pm
I'm going with Kvothe. I love his complexity even though he can be a bit childish.
8/28/2018 12:56:51 pm
I’d have to say Will from Rangers Apprentice. While I might find the Rangers Apprentice series to be too young for me now, it was my gateway into fantasy and brought me to where I am today in the genre. Will was always the character that might not have gotten all the appreciation from the masses, but did his job and did it well.
8/28/2018 01:05:18 pm
That's a tough one, there are a lot of really good characters. It comes down to either Dalinar (Stormlight Archive), Eithan, Lindon, or Nightblood (Warbreaker). Of those, I'd have to choose Dalinar, far and away, with Eithan as second.

8/28/2018 01:09:00 pm
Limiting it to Cradle-verse I’d definitely say Eithan. He’s cocky and always wearing a smile, and he’s got the skills to back the attitude.
8/28/2018 01:12:49 pm
Sand dan Glokta from the First Law Trilogy by Joe Abercrombie. Shai from the Emperor's soul by Brandon Sanderson is a close second.
8/28/2018 01:13:20 pm
Jarlaxle Baenre from the Forgotten Realms. Intelligent, witty, and a bit daring. Hes highly powerful yet humble about using his power.
8/28/2018 01:15:40 pm
ohhh, I have read a ton of books so this is pretty near impossible! From the Cradle series i'd have to say it is Eithan, I still think that there is something that he is hiding and can't wait to tell everyone! :)
8/28/2018 01:24:48 pm
Favorite character is Eithan Arelius. Crazy amount of pure Madra and almost never loses his temper. He sounds like a lovable rogue lol.
8/28/2018 01:36:21 pm
So many books and so many characters..... x.x.... At first i was thinking either kaladin from brandon sandersons book or even the main character from jumper David( shout out to anyone who read the book not the movie haha), but over all i agree with the couple comments above me. Eithan is amazing! When a sense of humor meets omnipresence! He also seems like an overall nice person. I loved the part where he gave the girl a flower because she seemed stressed. I also love the cradle series and am not ashamed to ask PICK ME hahaha!
8/28/2018 01:39:29 pm
I figured omnipresent was the best word to describe his ability? hes not omnipotent because he doesnt know everything, but rather is everywhere because he sees everything? Not exactly sure the word to use.
8/28/2018 01:37:33 pm
Kylar from Brent Weeks Night Angel series.
8/28/2018 01:40:45 pm
I would have to go with Silk from the Belgarid by Eddings. Assassin, Spy, Con Man, and smartass.
8/28/2018 01:42:48 pm
Perrin Aybara - A man with the soul of a wolf, he is a study of stark contrasts. He works as a blacksmith which has taught him a slow, methodical nature. Combined with his immense strength this makes him a perfect gentle giant. After he leaves the comfort of his hometown, he discovers his other half. His eyes turn yellow and his inner wolf surfaces. This part of him cares nothing for the world of men and seeks only to be free to follow its desires. He drops the hammer of his youth to take up the axe as a wolf. As Perrin's travels take him around the world he also take a journey through his mind to consolidate these massively disparate parts of himself. This confrontation comes to a head as he is called to lead an army to war. The gentle blacksmith and raging wolf are directly opposed as he seeks to lead men on to the slaughter fields. He eventually decides that he will be a builder king and takes back up his hammer. Simultaneously he accepts that he is both man and wolf giving him the advantages of both.
8/28/2018 01:52:55 pm
If you pick, I would provide it to someone in great need of starting Cradle. Choose randomly well!
8/28/2018 01:53:11 pm
Logan Nine Fingers from first law trilogy. The reason is simple, he will kill anything in his way and hate himself for it later.
8/28/2018 02:02:45 pm
Eragon. Maybe just because he was my first real book mc, but he holds a special place in my heart.
8/28/2018 02:13:14 pm
Lucan from your elder empire series because of his empathic nature and hesitancy to kill even though he is a gardener.
8/28/2018 02:29:15 pm
I'd say Shallan from Stormlight Archives is one of my favorites. I have such a love hate relationship with her. I was stuck in the mindset that she could be such a great character if she just got over her issues. But her issues are what made her who she is. Watching her confronting her inner demons in Oathbringer made me appreciate her so much more. I can't wait to see what is next for her.
8/28/2018 03:02:25 pm
Dresden from the dresden files, I love that guy.
8/28/2018 03:16:10 pm
Probably Orthos or Caela :)
8/28/2018 03:20:09 pm
Oops, just read the any book ever part. Definitely Servo Au Barca from the Red Rising series, or maybe Mat Cauthon from the Wheel of Time. Having said that, my first comment still sticks!
My favourite character in any book ever? That would have to be Cal, the dungeon core from Dakota Krout's series "The Divine Dungeon".
8/28/2018 03:39:48 pm
Such a difficult question! I’m going to say Eli Monpress from the books of the same name by Rachel Aaron. I do love a little swagger in a character.
8/28/2018 03:58:22 pm
Such a hard question, but I think that I have to go with Eithan. He's the perfect supporting character -- funny, mysterious, smart, and powerful -- and all coming together in the perfect package to be an incredibly intriguing mentor.
8/28/2018 04:15:17 pm
ender. he had game.
8/28/2018 04:17:06 pm
Samwise Gamgee - or Gabriel Allon. Just to be different :D
8/28/2018 04:18:30 pm
That's a tough question! In the interest of picking one who might not be as common, I'll go with Temeraire, specifically young Temeraire. I loved the interactions between him and Laurence and how he was learning about the world with his blend of innocence and conviction.
8/28/2018 04:39:30 pm
Right now my favorite characters are torn between Mercy and Eithan. I love Mercy and her quirkiness and that's pretty much why I love Eithan as well. They make me laugh in all the interactions they have with other characters
8/28/2018 04:40:27 pm
So many to choose from. Have to go with Wil Ohmsford from the Elfstones of Shannara. Still my favorite book of all time, can't even count how many times I've read it.
8/28/2018 04:50:49 pm
Calder Martin. That character is as human as they come. Especially being able to read the other point of view you can truly appreciate how little he knows and how he tries to do his best. Its exactly how every person in the real world goes about life.
Ricky L Farmer
8/28/2018 05:01:07 pm
Angela from Eragon quirky fun character.
8/28/2018 05:03:22 pm
I'm going to be boring and say Yerin. I love her dogged perseverance and the way she just accepts that her path is going to be difficult and keeps pushing forward. She doesn't try to take short cuts and makes the effort to learn everything properly in the right order.
8/28/2018 05:11:01 pm
probubbley lindon because i want to see him split his core again
8/28/2018 05:23:14 pm
Well this is a tough question my favorite book character would have to be David Charleston from steal heart. I love his story of revenge and also his drive to be the best at what he loves. Now don’t get me wrong I had tons more like Percy Jackson and Richter from the land or Eragon shadeslayer or Thomas from the maze runner and of course Lindon. The point is I could go on forever love the question
8/28/2018 05:36:09 pm
While I do like the main character in Unsouled I have to say my favorite main might be a character who's name I don't remember. But he's the main guy in a lit-rpg series, he's a necromancer and rules an undead city, and he's just awesome with his strategic combat using his minions.
8/29/2018 08:53:27 am
His name is Jason from Awaken online
8/28/2018 05:36:24 pm
This is so so hard!!
8/28/2018 05:53:25 pm
Sorry I forgot to go into the why!
Path of the Snorting Anteater
8/28/2018 06:01:26 pm
Little Blue is the bestamest character ever. Given you have to convey her wants/needs completely via description. She's the only reason we all want Lindon to surpass monarch... for Little Blue's development and feeding.
The one who rambles
8/28/2018 06:16:31 pm
That is a very very hard question to ask a person Will. To choose a favorite character of ANY book.. thats tough. I read too much, and listen to audio books at work all day. I'd have to say my favorite is Dandelion from the Witcher Saga (spoilers for that series ahead) the scene where Dandelion is being led to the executioners block and is asked if he wishes to say his final words so he addresses the crowd gathered. "Greetings good people! How are you?" "uh.. doing well." "thats good! I am doing well myself. alright you may proceed" He is as close to a celeberty as you see in that series and acts the part well. Always puffing out his ego as the best bard, always a few words away from sneaking away with a maid, and always a loyal (and rather comical) friend of Geralt.
8/28/2018 06:28:00 pm
One of my favorite characters is Druss. "Druss the legend" by David Gemmell
8/28/2018 06:31:11 pm
Artemis Entreri from the Forgotten Realms. One of the best swordsman to ever exist. A collector of powerful magical artifacts like the life stealing dagger.
8/28/2018 07:04:36 pm
I think my favorite character right now has to be Auri from the King Killer Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss. She is one of the most confusing, bewitching, intriguing, and wholesome characters ive read. Every interaction evokes so much emotion from me.
8/28/2018 07:35:52 pm
If you haven't read The Slow Regard for Silent Things, I suggest giving it a shot.
8/28/2018 07:19:33 pm
I really liked the Asphodel incarnation. The sass just could not be contained. Especially near the end. You could just feel the sarcasm.
8/28/2018 07:38:43 pm
Wow! Thought provoking question and one that's tremendously hard to answer. Think I'm going to say Silk/Prince Kheldar. Tyrion would be another on the list.
8/28/2018 07:44:51 pm
Alannon from the Sword of Shannara series. He always felt like a more badass Gandalf. I liked that he had plans but he never came across as aloof.
8/28/2018 08:35:04 pm
This is so exciting! You're amazing to be willing to give them to fans!
8/28/2018 08:57:21 pm
Damn.. too many choices. I enjoyed spending time thinking about my favorite stories.
8/28/2018 09:05:47 pm
I'm gonna have to say Waldo Butters because "Polka will never die!"
8/28/2018 09:30:52 pm
Corwin from Roger Zelazny's Chronicles of Amber
8/28/2018 09:53:08 pm
From Will: Eithan (love the comic relief)
8/28/2018 10:05:57 pm
Sparhawk from the Eddings Elenium/Tamuli series .Super badass and has unlimited power from being the child of Bhelliom he chooses not to use . Plus he wears black armor. Doesn't get cooler then that .
Benjamin B Yocum
8/28/2018 10:33:58 pm
I've always loved Dumbledore. I know he's got a bad reputation amongst some fans now, but I always admired his intelligence, power, kindless, and coolness under pressure.
8/28/2018 10:58:36 pm
Any book, ever? My choice is Kaz Brekker from Leigh Bardugo's 'Six of Crows.' He's deeply flawed, but incredibly cunning and shows that he's also caring in his own way. He's a brilliant rendition of the evil mastermind archetype while still remaining genuine and relatable.
8/28/2018 11:28:29 pm
Kylar from the Night Angel Trilogy, becuase super powered ninjas. Do you need more?
8/29/2018 03:52:07 am
Its gotta be Otoku. Although i still havent forgiven you, you bastard
8/29/2018 05:59:17 am
Phaethon ~ The Golden Age trilogy ~ John C Wright.
8/29/2018 08:32:33 am
Eithan. I'm going to marry Eithan.
8/29/2018 08:40:54 am
It's a trap! Will is just trying to find out which character we love most so he knows which to kill off to hurt us. DON'T ANSWER! I'm onto your tricks, Wight...
You haven't been randomly selected for the audiobook, but I still wanted to say: initially I thought about restricting this contest to only characters from my books, but I didn't.
9/1/2018 01:58:14 pm
Thought this would be a cool thing for you to read. https://medium.com/@gpetticrew/the-day-author-will-wight-became-my-hero-45a01546cc9
8/29/2018 10:24:33 am
So I love your books and literally buy the Cradleverse the minute they release, but all time favorite character still sits as Perrin Aybara from the wheel of time, just a guy looking to live life and ends up having to help save the world.
8/29/2018 02:03:47 pm
I know I'm too late, but I just want you to know that my favorite character in Unsouled is Northstrider, even though he has only had a grand total of one speaking line in the whole series that was just the word "No."
Ha, ha, ha!
8/29/2018 06:29:43 pm
Potato gnomes and Aberforth…have you been reading Harry Potter?
8/29/2018 08:56:07 pm
I'm going with the boring answer and say Jon Snow from GoT. I know most fans actually watch the show, and so did I, but man the books were so much better for me, especially since I read the books first. I wasn't all that tempted to watch the show and was a bit disappointed they Couldn't stick to the original. (cost, complexity and all that.
8/30/2018 12:19:17 am
It's too late to be in the drawing buuuuut Orthos is hands down my favorite. He doesn't hold the spot light but his attitude in stark contrast to Lindon's despite being bonded is pleasing. Personality aside, black flame turtles rock. I intend to borrow him for my dnd campaign.
Sword Immortal Darknorth
8/31/2018 06:16:03 pm
Currently my favorite character in an active series is Bai Xaoichun from A Will Eternal, at least in terms of xianxia. He's got a personality, which is something a lot of xianxia characters only vaguely have, and he isn't super kill-happy either.
9/3/2018 03:15:29 pm

Alright, thanks Will. I'll give it a try.
