The House of Blades Audiobook is Live!

Just in case you hadn't heard about this yet, the audiobook version of House of Blades is available now on Amazon, Audible, and iTunes!

People ask me for an audiobook more than almost anything else, and honestly I expected to have finished House of Blades last summer. But I put it on the back burner to get OSAS out on time, and here it is! Only a year later!

Future audiobooks won't take so long. But I'm waiting to begin Crimson Vault for the time being, because I want to see how HoB sells, and get a little bit of reader feedback.

That's pretty good! :) The one thing I don't like about it is the breathing/ speed... it gets on my nerves. Other than that, good!

I just got this on Saturday and I discovered it the day after while looking on this blog for this very reason because I always thought these would be great audiobook. I was right, I spend my lest audible credit on this and I wasn't disjointed. I was surprised you narrated it your self, but you did a good job. I think you got your characters voice to sound like you meant them to. Though you might need to take direction for doing female voices, I don't know what they do but some male narrators some how transmit that the voice they are making is female, while yours just sounded like guys. But I ignored it pretty fast since the rest of the narration was so excellent.

Have you seen enough about the sales to know whether you intend to release the rest of the books on audiobook? That is a determining factor in whether I get the first one.

Well, that was disappointing.. Disappointing that I finished and went straight into Audible to download the next part only to find it doesn't exist! Aaaargh! So now I'm onto a different series.. Sad.

My oldest son that lives across the country, and our lives are so much different. I find that often our phone conversations fall short on substance and as a parent I feel disconnected. He shared with me how much he enjoyed your book and encouraged me to read it. I found your audiobook, a blessing, to listen to in the car in during my work commute. Now we have endless conversations on Simon's future. I am looking forward to your next audiobook. Thank you.

Almost finished House of Blades audiobook -- my first exposure to you as a writer. The story is great and I keep wanting to learn more about the world and the territories!

As for the narration: character voices were performed well and brought the story to life really nicely. However, if I could give some constructive criticism, I'd say slow down a bit overall, and more specifically, pause between sentences just a little more.

I really don't, I'm sorry. I'm still recording, but once I'm done, it takes a month or two of editing and processing.

Within the next two or three months, I'd say.

My son and I are very glad to hear this. We do a lot of traveling and we have listened to the first to about 3 times now. He loves them maybe even more than I do. Listening to these has really helped grow his love for reading and he asks me about every other week when the next one comes out. Very excited!

That's awesome to hear, Travis! It's great to be able to record the audiobooks myself, but it does make it hard to strike a balance between recording and writing.
