The Hidden Gnome Podcast

While I’ve been locked away finishing up King and Killers, the rest of the Hidden Gnome team has been hard at work scrambling to come up with free content for everybody stuck at home.

The fastest thing we could do was to put our eligible books up for free, so that’s why we gave away Traveler’s Gate trilogy for free this week. Which brings us to the next thing on our list!

Travis Baldree has recorded audio for one of the short stories from the Traveler’s Gate Chronicles collection: The Steel Labyrinth. It’s the short story that follows Valin, Founder of Valinhall, hunting a monster in Tartarus.

It’s available now, for free, on Spotify and on this very site! (And will be available on Apple and Google Play as soon as they complete the review process, so watch for that!)

We’re calling this the first episode of The Hidden Gnome Podcast, but like I said, we’re scrambling to put together anything we can that’s free and fast. We know everyone’s stressed and stuck at home, so we want to give away anything we can scrape up.

Because of the fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants nature of this project, we don’t know when the second episode of the podcast (presumably another Chronicles short story narration) will come out. It could be next week or it could be a lot longer; we’re playing everything by ear right now.

But the gnomes are hard at work trying to keep you all entertained so you don’t go insane locked inside your own homes.

When...will...the...next...mailing list short stories come out?

Also, why did Simon follow a creepy guy talking to dolls and who just murdered to people in front of him, and starts spontaneously singing (and maybe dancing, can we get a *cough* *cough* book/short story on that Will? (Preferably called "Kai the Dancing Traveler)), into a place he cannot leave!

I still can't believe you came up with a plot that bizzare and still made it into one of the best reads ever.

THIS IS AMAZING. The free content is nice but I have dreamed of a regular Willcast. Please give your rambling thoughts, try some interviews or discussions with friends, rather than making it mostly content-based. I think there's no better way to go to know an author, to see the man behind The Man.

Just got audible to listen to all of your books, since I have read them all at least 5 times now. Travis gives dedication to the books and I can't wait to read and listen to OKAK, and the next Cradle whenever it come. Love the work, Will. Hope you and your family are staying safe and healthy.

Can I just give you some advice for book 8. Uncrowned was a great book with a super complicated plot, but it felt a little short. There is this amazing thing you do were you skip a scene that was mentioned in a previous scene this is often very powerful but felt a little overused in uncrowned. The scene were he is picking out his weapons and where he is training with fury felt needed but they were absent. You should probably change up some of your beta readers or have them be more honest with you. Thanks.

I am always alive. Will decided to kill me of, but little do the readers know that was just a clone. I created multiple bloodspawn clones of me. The egg also inherited properties of the blackflame so I am more powerfull than ever.(insert evil laugh here) Will will bring me back when they think the have defeated all their enemies I cant imagine the look on the readers face when it turns out I turned into a dreadgod. Death can not overcome me because my fate is tied directlly to the world of cradle. Death would not defy the Hound.
