The Elder Empire Has Arrived!

As you probably already know, Of Sea and Shadow and Of Shadow and Sea were released yesterday! Now it's time for me to freak out and quiver in fear for a few days! What fun!

Everyone who's reading this, thanks for keeping up with me and giving me a shot. Before House of Blades, I never imagined that I'd be entertaining anyone by telling stories. I sort of assumed I'd be teaching middle school English while writing a novel on a typewriter in the attic.

Now people actually care to read what I write, and that's pretty amazing. It's more than I ever asked for.

So thanks! If you do read either version of OSAS, let me know. I'd be happy to hear from you.

And, you know, if you did leave a review, that would be mighty cool of you.

Nope! Eventually paperbacks will be available through Amazon, and ebooks are available on Amazon right now.

Any idea when paperbacks will be available? I don't have a Kindle or other e-reader and I prefer hard copies anyway (even it DOES mean I need ANOTHER bookshelf) and I loved the Traveler's Gate trilogy, so I'm eagerly awaiting this new series.

Besides, I need something to keep me occupied for the long months until Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Budget, er, Blade Works starts back up again. I can't wait to finally see the rest of the route done justice rather than glossed over.

I finished both books yesterday( then my kindle died)! They are great! I especially love one particular intro in OS and Sea in one of the later chapters. will we learn about that someday?

And yes...yes, you will. It's not the same world, but the worlds are connected by the same mechanic. If that makes sense. I'm speaking vaguely to avoid spoilers.

By the way, it would help me out a lot if you would leave honest reviews on Amazon! The more reviews I have, the more angels surround my house to protect me from demons and Elders.

Did you seriously make a series with ninjas, Pirates, Wizards, gunfighters, zombies, and eldritch abominations? You might be my favorite author. I honestly don't know which book I like more.

I aim to please, Ben! Just like Traveler's Gate, I ended up having way too many ideas, so I just...threw them all in there.

And it just so happens that I AM an anime fan. Are you watching Fate/Stay Night this season? If not, how do you tolerate such a fruitless and empty existence?

I have been watching Fate/stay night. I have to say I have been a bit disappointed in it but hopefully the second season will be better now that Kirei and Gil are making moves. I still don't think it will be close to as good as Fate/Zero though.

Not to spoil anything for you if you haven't played the game, but yes season two gets better, and yes it ends in a far more satisfying manner than Zero.

So what made you ask about anime?

House of blades felt like an anime to me in a good way. I definitely saw some anime influences in the new series too in a good way. I'm not saying pirates=One Piece and ninjas=naruto at all in case you're wondering.

No, I completely understand. There certainly is an anime influence on anything I write.

And in the next book, the pirates will start receiving magical powers from fruits that grow in the middle of the Aion. Then it will be Calder's adventures as a rubber man, fighting his way past the corrupt government.

I may or may not be lying.

Just finished both books today. I personally liked Of Shadow and Sea better than Of Sea and Shadow but they were both really good. I suppose the next thing the guilds need to do is get the current people in charge to support them. I'm looking forward to the next set of books

I stumbled upon Traveler's Gate and binged through it--I was enthralled end to end, and that's saying something for a Sagittarius. The waiting...oh, the waiting while you created a new universe!! I grabbed both the OS books tonight after finishing Mira Grant's Symbiont and it's like Christmas over here! Thanks for not dying...or having some other unfortunate event preventing you from entertaining us. :-)
