The Captain is now available as an ebook!
And as an audiobook!
And NOT as a paperback for some reason! Amazon needs to hurry it up!

In some other regions, the paperback is up, but not in this one. I don't know why. A curse, I think.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the book! Some intrepid readers, or those from future time zones, have already finished.

Only finished 3 chapters so far, but hey, I'm a slow reader. Definitely enjoying it. After I finally get Waybound, no doubt I'll start wishing for book 2!

Had a long day of sewer inspections and traffic flagging. 12 chapters in and I can stay with all honestly that it has been a joy so far. Not surprising, but congratulations all the same. Well done.

I really enjoyed this new series. The new characters are interesting and varied... I can't wait to dig deeper into the world.

The one critique I have is I don't feel that the six forms of magic are clearly defined... I didn't understand the main characters powers like I have in wills other books. I'm not sure how intentional it was, but I do feel like our hero left a lot of his tools off the table.... for reasons?

yeah, I have to agree. He's supposed to be a master of 6 different magics, but it seems like he only really ever uses 2. Am I missing something?

Seconded. I get the whole no curse magic thing and in the BEGINNING it made since to keep most of his powers secret because he was legitimately afraid of being "detained" by the powers that be.

Uhhhh he magically nuked one of said powers. He also has a terrifying ship everyone is going to want. Why just use water and sealing?

From what I understand, the varied spells he knows are (sealing, elemental, pathfinding, curse, mirror) I’m not sure of the sixth one but from what Will defined in the beginning of the book if you can only master 1 discipline in magic that would be all his magics.

Excellent work. Side note. The layout of the text at the beginning of each chapter gave me instant Sci-fi vibes. If intentional, nice work. Going to really really enjoy this series. Omega=🖤.

Absolute banger of a book. Loved it. Great cast brimming with character and charisma. Villain had enough personality to not come off as cookie cutter. A brisk pace that still managed not to feel overly rushed.

And I just love the easter eggs and little nods to the greater wayvesre. Puzzling how it all fits together is just plain fun.

I'm getting near the end of The Captain and dreading every moment closer to the last page. I need a sequel today please. No pressure. None at all, just you know... bend time and space if you would.

Don’t worry. You’ve got a worthy successor to Cradle. We’re hooked.
Also, in case you are needlessly and ceaselessly worrying about the slow to come comments, your website was simply not opening for the past few days!
P.S. I’m still not done reading Captain. About 60% in and finding it simply dreadful how fast it’s heading to 100% (and I’m a slow reader who tries to sink into the book!)

I loved this book! I love all your books though? But this one was excellent, and it really shows off your range as a writer. It’s tricky to go from one genre to another, even if they’re closely related like fantasy and science fantasy. Does that make any sense? Anyways, I just wanted you to know that I loved the book, loved the nods you had towards sci-fi franchises like Star Trek, and overall I’m pumped to read book 2! And the final cradle book! I can’t even imagine what it must be like to be both ending an amazing series and starting a new one!
