Right Under the Wire
Whew, I almost missed posting a blog for this month. I can't believe it's been a whole month. It feels like we're still in the middle of 2022, and yet we're 1/12 through with 2023 already.
1/31/2023 10:45:30 am
You really missed the opportunity to use Wight under the wire? I am disappoint.
2/1/2023 01:59:05 pm
If you wake from that I highly suggest you refrain from reading a certain series written by Matthew peed lol.
1/31/2023 10:49:25 am
Stop bugging Will about new books every three months. He said he will publish it in January. It could be January 92 or January 174th, but it will be January!!
1/31/2023 11:40:32 am
[check check, 123] TSM fans are old hat with this “News in January…” meme format. Will must be lurking the TSM subreddit.
1/31/2023 10:53:32 am
So, does this mean we can expect a few robotic characters in the new series?
1/31/2023 11:24:11 am
Really makes you wonder what would seperate a sentient robot from Dross.
1/31/2023 12:08:01 pm
The wires... Duh
1/31/2023 12:18:23 pm
I imagine space robots much differently. There is potential for helpful AI characters that are witty and intelligent, or irritating clunkers with the IQ of a potato.
1/31/2023 04:39:28 pm
Oh, you probably meant the character's mental connection, didn't you? Not as a comparison...well... I guess I'm a potato.
1/31/2023 11:05:27 am
Dont have to wait to 3023 and Chronobots. Just work a cubicle help desk job and you can get the same feeling today! Hope you are at least enjoying the soul crushing pressure!
1/31/2023 11:18:19 am
Do the Chronobots at least sound like Dross?
1/31/2023 11:49:52 am
Take your time on Waybound. Let it grow into a realization that you aren't done with this story or the characters, that in fact, there are a dozen more books in the life of Lindon, Yerin, and Eithan.
1/31/2023 01:37:33 pm
I 100% agree and second this. I’m even fine with waiting for a while to see where they go, but please don’t let it end so soon! I want to see the gang join the Abidan(Or Vroshir).
2/2/2023 09:21:50 am
Dear Will's family members / coworkers,
1/31/2023 12:01:45 pm
In b4 "wen waybound".
1/31/2023 01:07:06 pm
Please take your time with Waybound. .. We know it'll be a good one, but with more time.. It'll definitely be an exceptional one :D
1/31/2023 02:09:45 pm
“ChatGPT, author me some plasma bolts”
1/31/2023 02:29:50 pm
Just because it isn't said much I am actually glad you are ending Cradle. I have thoroughly enjoyed the story, but a story has to have an ending. Without that it is at best incomplete.
1/31/2023 02:41:20 pm
You need to stop slacking and start working on finishing God of War: Ragnarok! All work and no play makes Will a dull boy
1/31/2023 03:40:03 pm
I think anyone can appreciate the goodwill in finishing a series well for the sake of invested fans even when the author is ready to move on to something new and exciting. I finished another series recently where the author seemed to hate the characters so much that he made them all miserable along with reader and betrayed most of their traits, values, etc. to get there. I'd rather skip that book altogether in hindsight, but I'm hopeful for the end of Cradle to be much better.
1/31/2023 09:45:00 pm
Are you referring to "Art of the Adept" by Michael Manning?
1/31/2023 03:41:12 pm
I for one welcome our new Chronobot overlords!
1/31/2023 07:39:59 pm
Appreciate the hard work and patience. It will pay off.
1/31/2023 09:04:53 pm
I get the desire to minimize time between series and convert fans over to the new, but intentionally delaying Waybound to do it is…a bit frustrating.
2/3/2023 07:51:22 pm
1/31/2023 11:15:19 pm
Take as much time as you need.
1/31/2023 11:47:11 pm
gonna need you to change the font and formatting back before I implode
2/1/2023 02:14:27 am
When you say “space fantasy,” does this mean it won’t really be sci-fi? As in it will be more like Star Wars (magic and supernatural things in space) rather than Star Trek (grounded adventures in space)?
2/1/2023 10:24:58 am
Waybound and Warformed: Iron Prince book 2 are the two books I'm looking most forward to in 2023. Cannot wait! Oh wait yes I can because I have no Authority to influence the books to release sooner
Aaron (same name eyyyyyyyyyyyy)
2/1/2023 12:16:07 pm
I couldn't take the wait for Iron Prince's sequel so it remains the only subscription on my patreon lmao
2/2/2023 01:12:02 pm
I do hope that some of the projects you speak of for 2023 include an anime adaptation of literally any of your series! Would love to see them all adapted!
2/3/2023 07:27:15 am
I'm looking forward to the books! I just finished catching up on all your books. Thank you for the exciting stories!
2/4/2023 09:33:33 am
Still better track record than Rothfuss.
2/4/2023 09:34:32 pm
I don't believe that Waybound has actually been written. I think he's gonna pull the old "Sneaky Rothfuss" trick, and not produce the final book until 2047, when Florida has been washed away by climbing sea levels and he needs money for a new house.
2/5/2023 12:02:21 am
Can't wait for Waybound and to check out the new sci-fi you create :) Wish you'd publish your ebooks somewhere other than Amazon, their DRM is a pain, I have a digital library on my PC (Calibre) and I can't put any of your books there because of the DRM :c
2/5/2023 06:12:41 pm
I have really enjoyed the Cradle series so far and I am really looking forward to Waybound. I just started reading your books last year. Take your time on Waybound but please please please do a sequel to the Cradle series including the Abadon and the Vroshir.
2/7/2023 04:57:29 am
Although I'm used to the scope of advancement throughout the series, I'm struggling to visualise a completion in just one book, unless it comes in on a par with the rise and fall of the roman empire for length.
2/8/2023 07:46:06 pm
I could see it even taking 3 books to get there (which I would not mind). Hopefully it is not forced to get to an ending to move on to the next series.
2/9/2023 12:39:24 pm
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Otherwise I imagine it'd feel pretty rushed and unsatisfying.
2/10/2023 10:24:02 am
Yeah, I'm with you on this. I honestly don't see how it's going to just be one book. Especially as Will seems to like to keep his books at a certain length.
2/9/2023 08:49:41 pm
Will there be a second series to follow cradle? Maybe diving deeper into the Reaper's plans for the team that saves worlds?
2/10/2023 08:25:12 am
I don't think anyone should compare Will to Rothfuss, even as a joke. Rothfuss wrote a decent story that died on the vine. Even if you don't like everything about Will's books, at least they keep coming during our lifetime. You're comparing someone who is writer to someone who was a writer.
2/12/2023 12:11:19 am
I for one would not at all mind if Waybound ended up the longest book in the series by significant margins it seems like it will be difficult to wrap up everything with just the normal length book
2/13/2023 05:43:26 pm
When you get taken over by bots can we ask for more cradle spin-offs. I’m sad I’ll ONLY have 13 books to reread.
2/17/2023 08:20:12 pm
Looking forward to your upcoming space stories. Are you getting inspiration from YouTube? Those videos about scary exo-planets are quite interesting, I would love to see planets showing up in your books that were featured in one of those videos,
2/26/2023 08:28:49 pm
I have a hard time believing that the new space fantasy isn't literally the sequel to cradle. Since literally everything we know of the abadon and the plot takes place in space, and is fantasy. >.>
2/26/2023 08:31:36 pm
(this is wishful sarcasm fwiw)
2/28/2023 09:40:52 am
But a nice idea nonetheless, be kinda cool for Lindon's troop to hook up with team house of blades
