I love this man and his team
+1 to that. Seriously amazing work that he literally just gives away for free.
Yessss. Haven't read this series but it just means you are one step closer to writing cradle....
You are crazy for not reading them. Fabulously dark and fast moving work. Can’t wait Will!!!
You need to read them. They're related to Cradle.
Been a huge fan since 2013 but I don't think I've ever commented but Friday is my birthday so it seemed appropriate to post a thank you. Stay safe and thanks for the great stories over the years.
I expected a drawn-out hype time. But I'll take the book I need something to do
Thank you, great one. You have given a great boon to use mortals.
Amazing news. I found your books with the Traveler's gate series, but have since read them all. Excited for this release.
Thanks Will, just started the series last week and they're awesome! Only thing is can I pay you more for the books? I feel like I'm stealing from you.
You really are getting good at being on camera.
So happy, and yet so sad.
Happy that OKAK is coming out, Sad that its the final books in the series.
Thank you, because I love this series. The concept and the execution have been amazing. The mythology, the magic system and the connection to the greater Willverse, have kept me guessing and hypothesizing for years now. Don't get me wrong, I love Cradle too, but this work, stands alone on its own merits. Kudos to finishing the slog and hooray for me, because I now have plans for the weekend.
I second all of this!
Thirded!!! All of your series are special in their own way, and I can't wait to see how they continue to tie together....plus 2 books released instead of 1!
Thanks Will! I got hooked on your writing with the Cradle series (which my son and I are now reading together), but I haven't read OKAK yet. I'm baffled by reading order. What would you suggest?
It seems to me that whatever story you read first, that's the story you'll like. I read Shera's story first, and tend to like it more than Calder's story. Bottom line is, read whichever story interests you the most. You won't be disappointed with either of them.
Thanks, Jordan. Of course, until I read them, how will I know which story interests me the most? Right now I'm in the best possible situation, with one caveat. My situation is that there is an author whose work I really like, and I don't know anything at all about the plot of this story. That's great, because I get to read and discover with nothing spoiled for me.
Unfortunately, I don't know how to read a story written in parallel like this. That's why, in fact, I haven't yet read any of it. Should I read one storyline all the way through? Should I alternate: Killer, King, Killer, King, etc...or: Killer, King, King, Killer...?
I'm stymied. I was hoping the man himself might answer with a reading order that matches his intent for this story, but I would gladly trust a recommendation from the group, too.
I listened to the audio books because I don't have much time to read in my daily life. After listening to both of them i think you should read Calder's viewpoint from book one first then the other first book 100%. Do not read all of the same viewpoint of the series before the other series.
I liked Calder more than Shera, but it was also the series I started with. Also read the first book in both series before going on to the second book in either series, and so on. I'll be honest I'm still a little baffled why they just weren't made into four sequential books
SS -> DD ->> KK
One series has Calder as the protagonist and Shera as the antagonist, while the other series is the opposite.
I appreciate the crossed kitchen knives.
Hurray!! I intend to read them as soon as I finish the series I’m currently halfway through. Congratulations on completion, and good luck with Cradle and quarantine!
Whoa, was NOT expecting to hear that these come out on Friday. Apparently, I need to finish Shorefall by then. Really appreciate the generosity and thoughtfulness if pushing these out for Quarantine reading and can't wait to get my hands on them.
You're really pulling out all the stops to finally get me to break down and read OKAK, aren't you Will?
Damn man, I hope that you aren't cutting yourself short. Congratulations with finishing them
*Gasp* I thought Will was invisible to cameras! In all seriousness, I'm very pumped for the release and second the person who asked if they could somehow pay more. I know I'll be blown away once again with your incredible writing (and plus this gets you one step closer to resolving the cliffhanger that's slowly been driving me mad with theorycrafting over the past several centuries (read 'months' because Will is great) since uncrowned)
He is invisible to cameras. He uses a body double for things like this. The tricky part is getting a new one every few decades to hide his immortality.
Sooo excited for this!! Congratulations on the release Will, we know how hard you've been working on them. Keep up the good work and stay safe.
Beyond excited Will!! Can’t wait to jump back into EE, I love it. I agree with another comment above that it almost feels like
I’m stealing from you it’s so cheap! Is there any way to donate?
I agree, I haven’t looked too much into it but do you have a patreon or somewhere to take donations at least? While I’m currently still reading Shera’s story I finished Caulder’s (so far) plus the rest of your books and they’re honestly some of my favorite series of all time, right up there with my all time favorite series The Inheritance Cycle, and IMO they’re on par with Harry Potter.
You are a madman with your pricing strategies. I respect that.
The oreo's on the bookshelf forced me to smile this morning, that's classic, Thank You! BTW the crossed daggers on your table look just like some kitchen knifes my wife uses. Never change!
This da best
I know you've made updates to the first four books. Will those automatically update at some point for those of us who have already purchased the books?
THANK YOU! Can't say that enough. Love all your books and I am so excited that two new ones are dropping. I am sad to see that we'll be ending this great series but I am also glad that you aren't drawing it out. Looking forward to your Cradle series finishing up and any new series you will start.
To further this question, I've noticed quite a bit of differences between my ebook and the audible versions as I read along. Is this due to the audible books being revised and the ebooks not yet updated?
So excited, I can’t wait!!!!!!
I just read this and then shook my fist and hissed "YESSSSSSSS!" into the heavens.
It should also be noted that I have a ridiculous Snidley Whiplash mustache.
Is there a link yet so I can go buy it.
Fantastic, will buy these asap!
I got up at 3 am to buy this book Will. I pirate literally everything, except weirdly enough your books that are kind of about pirates?. I love your books and its some of the rare shit I don't steal. So release it before you unleash the wrath of Northstrider!!!!
Has this come out yet? Is there a link?
Any news on what time they'll drop on Amazon today?
I can't find them on amazon yet.
Oh this is great. I love all your books and will never get any of them for free because I want you to earn money for your hard work.
My excitement for your releases are on par with Brandon Sandersons, maybe even more.
You should get all the recognition in the world.
