Congratulations. To me that is. I've been patiently waiting for these books for 5 (?) years. I've been listening to the audio over and over waiting for the next ones to be published. I absolutely love this series and the concept behind it. I suspect that these will be the last books in the series, due to the rise of Cradle (which I also love). But these were the first books Will wrote, that I was absolutely smitten with. It made me go back and re read traveler's gate, which I didn't like at first. Anyway congrats, to Will this time, and good luck in future endeavors.

These are the last books in the EE series, Will likes his trilogies. Also TG was his first series not EE just thought I'd point that out.

I have a sneaking suspicion that part of the reason finishing OKAK took so long is that they went through oh so many numerous rewrites and probably even changes in concept or follow through. I have a sneaking suspicion they went through such because you, Will, were trying to figure out the best way to intertwine the world's together and that maybe the world OKAK ends in is chronologically related to other works you've been putting out. Cradle things mayhaps. Perhaps the prison iteration isn't going to remain as sealed away as it should. After all we only finally got confirmation of another class 1 fiend in the most recent Cradle book, it's possible things are about to go to hell in a serious way in this grand universe you've been writing for us and the only way it made sense would be for all the players we needed to be introduced organically. Just a theory. Care to comment Will?

I have been thinking about this a lot, too. If you look closely, you can find pieces of a puzzle scattered trough these books. Maybe they are random. Or maybe you are right, and it will form a whole. Only time (and Will) can tell...

I am personally glad. While they are my favorite, that is a tie between Travelers Gate and Cradle, I do like the series and its Lovecraftien horror. Also its implied ties to the Travelers Gate universe since a descritipn of how Elder things get made and then a description of how pieces of destroyed worlds get changed by the void and die eventually unless they attach themselves to a new world really sounds like the Territories of Travelers Gate series. All of which come from destroyed worlds, where changed in the time between that and connecting the the real world of the Travelers Gate series. Plus that one metnion of Valen the wanderere in the little note saying at the beging of a chapter.
On that subject maybe we can finally get that Valen the wanderer prequel for Travlers Gate that was mentioned years ago and learn how he ended up Founding valinhall and became a traveler.

Since so many people are clamoring you devote future writing time to Cradle, with the rest demanding you start working on Traveler's Blade, I want something new.

That's right. I'm adding my opinion to the mix: It's time we got a brand new Will Wight series set in a new universe.

Cradle ended on a cliffhanger so Will kinda needs to resolve that sooner rather than later. Once that's done however something new could be viable. Question is would that 'new thing' be completely new or part of a wider universe ala Sandersons's Cosmere.

Congratulations! Your Elder Empire series may not be for me but I've always admired the magic system and the ambition of it, so fantastic job on completing this ambition. I know there are many, many readers who have been looking forward to it.

On the subject of what to write next: Cradle is my favorite of your series with Traveler's Gate being a close second. I will always scream for more Cradle (Lindon & Co. and/or a new crew in a different story) and am patiently waiting for the next phase of Traveler's Gate but if writing something new, as in a new world and a new magic system, will keep your creativity refreshed, then definitely bounce between Lindon's journey and a new tale.

I've been waiting forever for EE to be finished. I've been with you since Traveler's Gate, and when EE started it immediately became one of my all time favorites. The world building, the duality of the two storylines, the depth of the lore.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Cradle, but EE is by far my favorite of your work and again I thank you for the excellent news!

Great news! Thank you! Loved Traveler's Gate and grabbed Elder Empire series as soon as I saw it was from you. I've been buying all the Cradle series but have been holding back on reading them until I see the Elder Empire conclusion. At last! :-)
