In which we ramble on.
And by we, I mean me.

Oh Yeah, Gardens of Mist Has Been Out For Like A Week

AKA, I forgot that I hadn't made a post about this. I tweeted it, posted it on Facebook, and mentioned it in the comments, but I never made an official post.

Oops.

So hey, if you haven't heard by now, Gardens of Mist is now available here!

Thanks for all of you who have already read and reviewed it! I thought that having You-Know-Who* show up in the Tartarus story would be a neat little surprise for you, and that particular scene wouldn't be in his novella, so I've avoided the potential redundancy problem.

Also, the Crimson Vault paperbacks are finally up for order normally on the Crimson Vault Amazon page! They do have a map in the front, too. Just so you know.

So yeah, the final collection in the Traveler's Gate Chronicles will be out this month, entitled The Lightning Wastes. "Wastes," in this case, refers to a wasteland, not to a waste of space or resources. The more you know!

Meanwhile, have a link to an awesome comic.

*Voldemort, obviously.

Thanks, Jack! I personally thought the part where he ate death was a nice touch. Nobody expected that name to be so literal.

So if i read this post right there is going to be a novel about Voldemort (Not His Real Name); is that correct?

Yes, since one of my fondest dreams has always been to get sued by J.K. Rowling.

That said, I will actually write a story about the origins of Valinhall. I don't know whether this will be a novella, a novel, or a couple of novellas, but it's coming. I also make no promises as to WHEN it's coming, but I will do it.

I would personally enjoy a novel about the origins of Valin and Valinhall. I find it interesting.

Hello, I'm writing you from Ecuador South America, to make you know how far your books reached. I'm proud saying that this is my first novel bought for kindle and I couldn't be happier.
Congrats and can't wait for the third one. I just hope watching simon becoming an incarnation and conquering the world and territories. Hahaha

Ecuador! Cool!

I'm proud that I was able to make your Kindle experience an enjoyable one. And as for Simon taking over the world...

Ssssshhhh. Don't let the others know.

Echoing and adding: I was already trembling with excitement for the finale of the trilogy, and these shorts have certainly upped my expectations! My favorite thus far has been the Valin story, followed by Ornheim. So....is there a movie deal in the works yet? This world is HUGE and deserves exploring!

Man I saw a commercial for I think 47 ronin or something like that but I thought I saw a dude that looked like Valin. I got so excited.

Man, I saw 47 Ronin, and (while the movie was bad--it felt like a fantastic samurai movie with a crappy Keanu Reeves plotline thrown in) I got a heavy Valinhall vibe from it. So that was pretty cool.

And Z, glad you're enjoying the stories! I'm working on the last batch now, and I'm personally excited about them. The world IS big, and it's basically impossible to explore it all in just three books.

I would be okay with reading a couple more books from the series. Just sayin'

I'm up for as many books or novellas about this multiverse as you wish to write.

Thanks guys/gals/ethereal beings!

As I've said before, I will return to this world (these worlds?). I'm definitely going to write at least one novel about the origins of Valinhall, and then I'd like to continue the story, probably out into the future. Maybe another trilogy, maybe a series. Who knows?

I just need to write something else for a while, to keep myself interested. You might even like it better than this series.

As usual - awesome. Simply awesome. As mentioned before, I just love how you write. I almost wish that was just brown-nosing, but it's not.
I remember when I started House of Blades. Weird experience.
At first it seemed linear and shallow. Then it kept on being linear. Dude has difficulties. Girl has secret. Big blade. Dude helps. Linear. He has a secret.

But there was a buzz that annoyed me. I could not shake it, and I could not put this very annoying book down. I mean ... crystal piercing insects.
Yea, you heard me...

Then Simon this. Simon that. The words said "I am saying this, and the story says this."
Okay... Fine...
Then the words said "I am saying this, and the story says this."
I was getting annoyed, but I kept on reading.

Then the layers started unfolding. No, the story was told by skimming a huge world that you had already thought through. And I kept on reading. And it started to annoy me that you did not tell me about the world. The keys. The story. The depth.

No, you kept on insisting telling the story about the vast world from a perspective point of view where it would not be told the reader unless the protagonist actually experienced some of it.

I hate that.

No I don't. It's the beer talking. But give me some credit. For a non-english speaker I'm quite the eloquent writer :)
(not in thos post, though)

Anyway, Mr. Wight. Your grasp on the world is ... troubling. Given your age, which is, if I am to believe Amazon, what I would consider quite inexperienced. No offence intended.

But let's my beer shut up for now. There are limits to how long I'll let it use my keyboard.

Not the beer, just me:
Mr. Wight, I greatly enjoy your writings. Your writings. I greatly enjoy your way of writing. No... That's not right. More like ... how you approach a story.
It's all difficult to explain.
I'd let the beer say it all, but I wont.

I'll probably write some disclaimer in a couple of days...

Just when you think you've got words sorted out, and you're writing to someone who actually CAN write well...

Fine. I'll post this. I'll write a GOOD post for you later.
When I am able.

I'm not 100% sure what your beer is trying to say, but I'm choosing to be flattered. Thanks, Dag's beer!

I just want to say I absolutely loved the creepy, horror vibe of the Asphodel story. The tone is so different in each of these shorties, it's great to see a talented author flex his muscles, if the analogy makes sense. I have been telling everyone who will listen about your books since I first "borrowed" House of Blades on Amazon Prime. I quickly realized I would have to buy it so I could lend it to my friends and get them hooked. Thank you!

I'm glad you liked it, Avi! Most people seemed not to enjoy that one as much, which I suppose I understand: it's very different from the other stories and from the novels. I just wanted to try something different, and I enjoyed writing it.
