I've spent this whole week writing, so I wasn't sure what to say today. In the end, I decided to give you a glimpse at a page I wrote this week.

This is a flashback scene from the middle of Of Sea and Shadow, and it involves Calder meeting with his mother (Alsa), who is an influential member of the Blackwatch Guild.

I haven't edited this at all; it's a screenshot straight from the OSAS file, and this scene is in its first draft. It's also very small, because I'm lazy, so grab your reading glasses for your old lady eyes.

That's an impolite question, Mr. Cage. Asking what's in a lady's coat; honestly, do you have no manners at all?

And I didn't intend to select a section that ended on a cliffhanger, it just happened to work out that way. Fortunately for me.

I'm liking it, although a neck to foot coat held completely closed by just two buttons, must have some type of Velcro along the seam. Yes, I'm a gear geek and I can't help it. Believe me when I say it can be distracting.

Aside from my tangent, I really can't wait till you finish them and I get to read them! I really enjoy the cadence, tempo, or whatever you want to call your dialogue.

It's got buttons all the way down, but she only unbuttoned two in order to reach whatever she's got in her inside pocket.

Ok, so our assumption can be that, whatever she has inside her coat, it is likely not velcro?
