Cradle: Path of Gold

At long last, we've released the collection of Cradle books four through six, which we're calling Cradle: Path of Gold!

Along with this release, we also have a new cover for the original Cradle collection, Cradle: Foundation! Both covers were painted by the amazing Ashley Mackenzie, and you would be well advised to feast your eyes on her portfolio.

In celebration of Path of Gold's release, the Path of Gold collection will be available for free this weekend, May 30-June 1. Also, all the posters here on The Will Wight Store are on sale!

Meanwhile, I've been re-reading the Cradle series by listening to the audiobooks all the way through for the first time.

Travis Baldree and Audible Studios have done an incredible job with those books!

Idk about the writer, though.

He seems pretty sketchy.

How far are you and which is your favorite?
Has your favorite changed over time?
And does it feel odd to hear your thoughts and ideas you’ve imagined read back to you by a different person?

Do you get more from multiple re-borrows on KU or from a purchase? Because I'm tempted to insist on purchasing the collection if that sends more your way than rereading it every 4 months or so.

As far as I'm aware, Kindle unlimited reads only pay out the first time. The best way to make sure the author gets the most money is apparently to read via KU forest, then buy the book a month or more later- if you buy it in the same month as your KU read it also doesn't pay them.

Well, that just sucks. I assumed if I borrowed again sometime later and reread it it would count the pages read all over again.

Perhaps, when the next cradle book arrives, my skin won't feel quite so much like a jacket of ants. Army ants. With little hats and complex marching formations and dance numbers to the tune of.... <scratches arms with horrifying intensity> *sigh*

Lindon doesn't match my one either. He's supposed to be tall and broad. I think? Either way Artwork is artoqrk and I does make for a better cover.

I consume most of my fantasy fiction in audio form, and I would say Baldree's work on Cradle is the best I've ever heard. Each narrator adds something of his or her own to the novel being voiced, and IME opinion Baldree's performance adds more to the Cradle than I've heard with any other narrator of any other fantasy.

Hi Will,

Huge fan of the Cradle series. It refreshing to read a novel that seems to really listen to what us "nerds" want. Characters are great. Eithan is a revelation. Action never seems to lull. Can't say enough good things.

I did not write this post simply to praise, however; I was hoping you would answer this question--Were the creation of "Icons" in "The Way" inspired by Plato's theory of Forms?

I'm studying Greek philosophy this term and I cannot get this thought out of my head. It seems to make a lot of sense, but who knows?

Well, you, probably, which is why I ask.

Anyway, thanks for bringing us these amazing stories! Cannot wait for Wintersteel!

Hello! After seeing the absolute gorgeous covers for the two new collections, might I request that we be able to download those as raw files? I think that would look absolutely marvelous as a phone wallpaper.
