Hey, I'm back!
Also, while I was gone, we crossed the 8,000 sales threshold! Woo-hoo! At this rate, we'll hit 9,001 copies sold in less than a week, and then I can make an OVER NINE THOUSAND joke. My sickly heart craves outdated memes. At this point, I estimate that I'm about 1/3 of the way done with The Crimson Vault, and I'm still working like a fiend trying to get it out for August 10th. I really want that to happen, because August 11th is my birthday, and then I can spend my birthday doing everyone's favorite post-book-launch birthday activity: sleeping. And, ideally, playing Cube World. Simultaneously. Now that I have returned to the civilized world of Wi-Fi and 4G phone service, I will be investing my precious writing time into responding to your comments and emails. Look forward to my correspondence, friends and allies! As always, thanks for your support! I channel your positive energy and feast upon it, swelling my writerly powers. Soon I will shed my mortal shell like a chrysalis, and ascend to a higher plane of existence. No? Too weird? All right, I'll take it down a notch. Here's a similar question to last week's: what was the most recent movie you've seen that was surprisingly good? I liked the Lone Ranger reboot (not counting the Tonto/Little Kid frame story, which needed to be edited out), which surprised me, because I expected it to suck. Anyway, how about you?

After your comment about Lone Ranger, I'm not sure I can respond. I guess that's why you said "surprising," but the previews made it look like Pirates of the Caribbean, western remake. For me . . . This is the End. I wasn't necessarily surprised it was funny, but I was surprised by how hilarious and entertaining it was. Although the shock value approach means that I may never see it again, it was the funniest movie I've seen in a while.

You know, that's funny, I still haven't gotten around to seeing This is the End. But if it's that hilarious, I need to check it out.

No need to be defensive. I was only curious. If you do not want to answer whether you do your own editing, you could have just said so. 7/21/2013 10:51:04 am

To sound like a total geek (which I probably am), I just saw Despicable Me 2 (in my defense, I had my 3 year old with me), and it was hilarious!! Seriously stoked about book #2! I hope you get it done! Today happens to be my birthday, and I received amazon gift cards...some of which will hopefully go to buying your book once it comes out (if I haven't used it all up beforehand!).

Lol ok glad I'm not the only adult who thinks Despicable Me is awesome! And thanks! :) 7/22/2013 01:10:51 am
I liked Despicable Me 2, but I didn't think it was as good as the original. The minions were still hilarious.

Will! You should post blog updates bi-weekly! I know it takes milliseconds to transmit your feels across the internets and those are milliseconds we could have the Crimson Vault sooner, but I like when you take us through your developmental process every now and then and give us the state of the union.

So first you tell me that I should do more work, and then you mock me when I refuse to skip work and go to a con with you. I defy you, Lord of Chaos and Paradox!

Just wanted to say thank you for writing the House of Blades book, really loved it! As for when the sequal comes out, i can wait as long as it takes so that it is written to your satisfaction. So no rush. Thank you for all the work you put into this and please keep up the awesome work

Pacific Rim! You have to see that movie! Does it suffer from a bit of poor characterization and a lack of great acting? Maybe....but it's got giant robots punching giant monsters in the face!! I'm not sure why exactly but I loved it.

Just saw Oblivion, which I thought was very good. The last movie I saw in theaters was Star Trek: Into Darkness, which I also enjoyed.

I loved Star Trek II, but I didn't see Oblivion. I wanted to, it was just that there were so many movies coming out around that time that I didn't have the time or the money.
