How Long Ago Was Dreadgod Again?

It feels like it's been forever.

I'm here for my irregular check-in, folks! After Dreadgod's release, I did a livestream (two livestreams?), spent three weeks writing a bunch of words on another book, and then suspended myself in my Regeneration Tank to recover.

Now I emerge, blinking in the light, to discover a world greatly changed.

Not really, but it is weird for me that Dreadgod was only last month. It's been a long month.

In other news, here's a headline that sounds like I made it up: Brandon Sanderson partners with Subnautica devs for tabletop tactics video game.

A friend of mine sent me that link, and I had a moment trying to remember if I'd come up with it as a joke for a blog post. But no, it's real. A fusion between Brandon Sanderson and Subnautica is the kind of thing I thought I'd have to find all seven Dragon Balls for.

Anyway, I'm back now! As DragonCon looms on the horizon, drawing ever closer. I hear its furious wing-beats on the wind.

I have a lot of books to catch up on in the meantime.

More like Intersouled or Resouled? The adventures of Lindon and Co in space cleaning up The Way when? Wait maybe Soul in Space? Idk I can't think of a good name that would be a play on the word Unsouled for the first book of the second leg of the adventure.

Haha I reacted similarly to that game announcement. Definitely a game to look at even if I'm not a fan of the whole painting miniatures thing.

Moonbreaker looks cool but I'd still rather play a pure table top version. It kind of looks like it might be full of micro transactions.

I'm hoping for the next series to be beyond Cradle and connecting all of the iterations we have been introduced to already. BEYOND CRADLE: ABIDAN.

I don't think I've seen a book schedule. Now that you are alternating developing two books, do you expect your scheduling would be about the same? Up to this point, unless the regeneration tank has also given you a '16-step plan [to] quicken your mind', your books are banged out every 8 months (plus/minus).

Will the new "plasma bolts" book come out around early Q2-2023 (roughly 8-9 months), then another Q4-2023?

And I am hoping that in your preliminary writes to end Cradle (and consulting with the various Wights, and reviews from your large fan base) that you have observed that adding a book per Dreadgod and another book or two to push the monarchs to ascend would get you to 15 or 16 books, not 12. Addition is definitely harder than we give it credit for... And lots of loyal fans with funds to buy books for 3 years and increasing the book price while the other series gets traction is only a benefit... Like rice, its good for you.

My boyfriend and I love your series and have been listening to it on repeat on audible, but we keep having arguments about the layout of the world. Would you please consider releasing a world map and maybe include the path that Lindon and Yerin travelled through out the series, that would be amazing. As always I appreciate your writing and can’t wait for the next book!

That only tells me when people comment on a blog post I have already commented on. I want to know when a new blog post is made. I thought that was included with the mailing list, but then I thought it had been a surprisingly long time without a notification of a blog post, so I checked the website manually and saw that a blog post was made 12 days ago without me getting any notification.

You can use the RSS Feed down at the bottom of the page if you have a feed reader. There's plenty of options for phones or pcs.

I'm still reading passages again rather than new books. (Read it 3 times). It's like watching action movie scenes over and over.

Either I'm becoming too much of a fan or the writing/story is starting to transcend the genre. You may not recognize a classic in the making being so close to it.

Have to ask? Is Dreadgod the penultimate novel for the Cradle Series? Feel like when the characters ascend that would be the best finish.

I agree. The series ending should not be Dreadgod. There should be a follow-up that leads to their ascending. Then, can always start a new series of them after that.

He already said this is the penultimate book. After the end of chapter 23 the next page says "Lindon's story comes to an end in Waybound: Cradle volume twelve".

I saw something flash across my screen when I finished Dread God, but then it went away. It was just enough for me to know Lindon's story continued, but when I tried to look it up on Amazon it was not showing it and when I went back to the book itself, that "Lindon's story continues" screen was no longer there. It was strange. Anyways, I am glad you got the info! I KNEW I saw another book was coming!
