Right here, for those of you on Amazon.com.
For Amazon.co.uk, it should be up a little later today. Enjoy!

The Lightning Wastes, the final collection in The Traveler's Gate Chronicles, should go live early this afternoon (Eastern time; I'm on the east coast of the USA).
I really think you'll like it. It's looking like I'll be uploading The Lightning Wastes late tonight/tomorrow morning, which means it should be available for purchase around midday tomorrow.
I realize that's 24 hours later than I had intended, and I prostrate myself before you. My sister's leaving to study abroad in Spain for five months, so I've been spending a few days this week with her, but as a result I procrastinated the short stories too much. I'm sorry. As an apology, I've put Simon and Leah in this one. As a double apology, I haven't included Alin. You're welcome. So I'm working on the January batch of short stories, collectively entitled The Lightning Wastes.
I'm excited about them, and interested to see how you enjoy the chance to tour Endross, Naraka, and Ragnarus. At the risk of almost spoiling you, they tie in more to the novels than the previous six short stories did, so that's nice. There are a couple of characters in these that I really enjoy writing. Release date for the stories? Before the end of the month. Work on City of Light is proceeding more slowly than I had hoped. Not because of the short stories; it's mostly because I want to end the trilogy well, so I sometimes get a little too focused on not screwing up. It'll still be early 2014, though. When I say "slowly," I'm talking in terms of weeks, not years. I did just get the first few CoL cover sketches back from my artists, though (the same ones who drew my previous two covers). It's not quite ready to show you yet, but I'm looking forward to the end product. Since I like to end on a question, here's an inquiry for you: What questions would you like to see answered in City of Light? Keep in mind that I will not be answering the full history of Valinhall, as I intend to release a different book about that in the future. I'm just curious about what you're curious about. Cheers and salutations! -Will AKA, I forgot that I hadn't made a post about this. I tweeted it, posted it on Facebook, and mentioned it in the comments, but I never made an official post.
Oops. So hey, if you haven't heard by now, Gardens of Mist is now available here! Thanks for all of you who have already read and reviewed it! I thought that having You-Know-Who* show up in the Tartarus story would be a neat little surprise for you, and that particular scene wouldn't be in his novella, so I've avoided the potential redundancy problem. Also, the Crimson Vault paperbacks are finally up for order normally on the Crimson Vault Amazon page! They do have a map in the front, too. Just so you know. So yeah, the final collection in the Traveler's Gate Chronicles will be out this month, entitled The Lightning Wastes. "Wastes," in this case, refers to a wasteland, not to a waste of space or resources. The more you know! Meanwhile, have a link to an awesome comic. *Voldemort, obviously. Happy New Year, ladies and gentlemen! Here's the deal: Gardens of Mist is finished, it's ready, and I'll be uploading it ASAP.
As usual, Amazon has to put the book up on their end after I upload it, which can take as much as a day. Based on how long it took them last time, I suspect Gardens of Mist will be available for sale late this afternoon or evening. That's a guess, though. Once I upload it, which will happen soon, it's all in Amazon's smooth, delicate hands. I'm sure you guys know the drill by this point: Gardens of Mist will show up if you search for it before it will show up on my Amazon page, so it will be available for sale hours before it officially shows up on my page. Once I get a link that works, I'll put it up here. But there are more of you than there are of me, so if you're able to buy a copy before I post a link on the blog, let me know! Send me an email or leave a comment with a link to the book, and I'll update as soon as I can. Hope you enjoy it, and Happy New Year's! I don't know about yours, but my 2013 was pretty fantastic. -Will Quick update tonight: I've decided not to push Gardens of Mist out for Christmas. It will still be out before the end of December, but after Christmas.
Why? Because now I get to spend some time with my family. I was going to work today and tomorrow uploading the stories, then head home for Christmas on the 25th. Now I get to relax today, and head home tomorrow. I could still have gotten the book out, but honestly I think I'm doing the right thing by waiting a few days. As many of you have said, it's best to take some time off over the holidays. So now you know. Gardens of Mist out a few days later than I was hoping, but still before New Year's. To compensate you a little bit, I will reveal that Crimson Vault paperbacks are finally available, but only through this direct link. Once Amazon shows the paperback properly on the normal Crimson Vault page, I'll make a wider announcement. Also, thanks again for your enthusiastic participation in the last blog post! I got a lot of suggestions, some of which were e-mailed, tweeted, or private messaged to me. It's neat to see what you all want in your stories, and your responses are helping me decide where to go after the Traveler's Gate Trilogy. If you want to keep leaving suggestions/requests, feel free. I still monitor the comments on old blog posts, as long as they're not TOO old. Thanks for reading, and have a Merry Christmas Eve Eve! ...sort of. Not really, as a matter of fact, I don't actually have a Christmas present for you. Unless, of course, you're one of the handful of people for whom I did actually buy a Christmas present.
Uh, let me start over. Book 2 of the Traveler's Gate Chronicles, Gardens of Mist, coming this month! Probably before Christmas! It's almost done! Here, have an eye-catching image: Tower of Winter, the first of The Traveler's Gate Chronicles, has officially been submitted to Amazon.
Now, how long will it take to go live on the Kindle Store? I don't know. Amazon says 12-24 hours from upload to availability, but last time it took less than 2. So, sometime tomorrow, keep an eye out for Tower of Winter! I'll be sure to make a post as soon as I see it on the store, but I know one of you will likely catch it before I do. If you do, let me know! Even as we speak, I'm formatting Tower of Winter for Kindle. I've got my fingers crossed, and I'm hoping to upload it tonight.
That means that it SHOULD be available either late tonight or tomorrow morning, depending on how long formatting takes me, and how long it takes Amazon to upload it. I know last time there was a weird delay getting it on Amazon.co.uk, so hopefully that doesn't happen again. Anyway, I'll keep you posted. If you want more up-to-the-minute coverage, follow my Twitter: @WilliamWight. Or, if you just want to know when the book is released, either keep checking back here (I'll post when I upload AND as soon as I see it up in the store) or go on my Amazon Author Page and click "Email me when there are new releases by Will Wight" (top right-hand corner). My Amazon Author page: http://www.amazon.com/Will-Wight/e/B00D9S1IMO/ref=ntt_athr_dp_pel_1 Anyway, back to work, slave-Will! (Yyyesss, masssterrr!) |
