Author Round Table Tomorrow!

Hey, everybody! Tomorrow morning, I'll be participating in an Author Round Table event over at SFFWorld.com!

What is a Round Table event, you ask? Insightful question! And I don't fully know the answer! As I understand it, there are a number of authors participating in what is essentially a forum-based AMA. There are a number of talented indie fantasy authors taking place, including Megan O'Keefe, James Barclay, John Marco, and some talentless hack they found on the streets.

So check it out tomorrow, ask me questions, and let's make this a party! You can ask the others questions too, I won't stop you, but know that I will judge you in my heart for your disloyalty.

Also coming up on the docket: New mailing list story April 1st.

More soon.

-Will

If I can make it work, I'm going to title this story "A Likely Story."

I noticed your one negative comment you have so far on your most recent release is about timelines. Which, I have no issues with.

Do you have a reasoning behind how you do it? As of right now you tend to do a single chapter before changing timelines. Is that just more comfortable than slowing it down with say, two chapters of a timeline before switching?

Just out of curiosity mainly, the poor reviewer said they didn't read the book and felt that the past tense timeline had no relevance to advancing the story. Sadly if the person had finished the book, said person may have a different opinion.

I knew the structure was going to annoy some people, but I thought it was the best way to tell the story. I stand by that. The only thing I MAY have done differently to accommodate those people is to make chapters longer, so it doesn't feel like you're cutting back quite as quickly.

There's a small subset of people who get very frustrated by bouncing around in time. Doesn't bother me too much, though. Can't please everyone.

I like jumping around in time. I think it's a great way to tell a story. Keep up the good work Will. (And when I say, keep up the good work, what I mean is, hurry up and publish another book, so I can read it.)

Also, I missed the TG mailing-list story. I was hoping I could still sign up for it?

You can. Send your e-mail to Will through the "Say Hello" section of his website, and he will send you the chapter. That section is also where you can sign up for his mailing list, so if you haven't done so already, sign up through there so that you can get the next story!
