Soulsmith comes! Flee for your lives!

I'm uploading it tonight, which means it should go live tomorrow morning. Set your alarms to "early."

Also, starting tomorrow, Unsouled will be on sale for free for the duration of the next five days. It's a good time to get started on the series, if you haven't already.

For those of you on the mailing list, I'll be sending you a message about the release shortly. Then, when the book page is live, I'll send you another one with an accurate link.

And that's one long story, delivered as promised before the end of the month. But I'm aware that I owe you two short ones.

If you're still conflicted about writing a romance, I will say you did a really bang up job with the ones in the Elder Empire series. Just because it's organic and not at the forefront doesn't mean it isn't good!

From one joke about romance in a blog post, I received dozens of passionate responses with very strong opinions.

Now I'm doubly afraid to write a romance. I feel like if I do it poorly, I'll open my door one day to be torn apart by a crowd of shrieking fanzombies. And if I do it well, they'll tear me apart even more enthusiastically.

I'm very excited to read it. I cant wait for Lindon to become a badass and go back to his village to show off his badassery while saving them from destruction. I know it will probably be a while, but, I'm looking forward to it.

That can of worms has been opened now Will. Cant be put back. In all seriousness though, i would love a romance, especially in travellers gate because it really fleshes out characters. It is one of the best and deepest froms of character development.

Saw an email from the mailing list, and thought it was a short story, but now I'm on hype overload! I was extremely disappointed when I heard you were delaying OKAK to write this series, so much so that even though I bought Cradle day one I hadn't read it until this week. (Spite? Sorrow? Amnesia? )

However, I literally finished Cradle last night (which by the way is fantastic just like all of your other books) so your timing with this release is impeccable!

Keep up the great work, you're easily one of my all time favorite authors.

To be completely honest, I didn't even notice that you'd used the wrong title until you pointed it out. I was calling the first book "Cradle" during the entire process of writing it, right up until I had to make up a title for the cover.

Even then, the first title I came up with was "The Fox and the Phoenix," and it was only when I didn't like that cover that I landed on Unsouled for the second and final cover design.

Even now, I usually call it Cradle.

YES!!! This is so awesome. I finished Unsouled last week and I immediately went to look for the sequel only to see that it was still a WIP and my heart broke a little.

I'm glad that my wait wasn't as long as I expected. But now I'm dreading the wait for next time...

And where do I sign to have the romance happen?

It's not TOO much of a wait. This one was only three months. There are plenty of things you can do for three months, like having yourself cryogenically frozen.
