Some of you may have noticed that I haven't been responding to comments or emails for the past two weeks. Why? Well, I took one of my famous impromptu mountain-vacations of course.
But now I'm back baby, and I bring news!
Unsouled release date: June 14th.
There it is! June 14th, you'll be able to get your hands on that sweet, sweet, new-novel goodness that I created for no other reason than that I wanted to. After that, it's Of Kings/Killers and Killers/Kings time, followed by Book 1 of the Traveler's Blade Trilogy (book title TBA).
With the monthly stories in between! Now, that brings me from the good news to the bad news, which is...
June's mailing list story will be about a week late. Sorry about that, but I'm going to be out of the country on the first, so it's either do it early ☚(ﾟヮﾟ☚) ...or late. I'm afraid that I didn't do it early, so you'll have to wait a week for your monthly dose of shortened stories.
On the bright side, just to take away that sting, it will be Traveler's Gate again. Followed by probably Elder Empire next month, since I'll be on an EE kick then.
Now it's back to responding to the four million emails haranguing me for not responding in a timely manner. I love each of your beautiful faces, and thanks for reading!
So this is going to require a little bit of explanation.
Bottom line: I wrote another book! It's not Traveler's Gate or Elder Empire, it's a totally new series in an original universe! And if you're on the mailing list, I sent you the first ten pages today as a preview!
If you're not on the mailing list, you should sign up, because I send free content to the people on the list every month.
If you recall, a few months ago, I suggested that I wanted to write a weekly story here on the blog. For fun, and to give people something to read in between books besides boring news posts. So two months ago, I started writing it, so that I could be a few chapters ahead and wouldn't miss any updates.
Then I came up with the idea of the monthly short stories.
Well, the short stories do everything I wanted the weekly story to do. They're fun and quick to write for me, they're something to read in between books for you, and they slowly reprogram you into my loyal drones. Win-win-win! But I'd already written half a novel's worth of content for what was supposed to be a once-a-week serial. So I just kind of...finished it.
The final books in the Elder Empire, Of Killers and Kings / Of Kings and Killers, are still coming out this summer! The first book in a new Traveler's Gate trilogy is coming out after that! And also now there's this new novel, Unsouled, part of a series I'm calling simply "Cradle." I like to write, what can I say?
You may have noticed I have a tendency to bite off more than I can chew. But I'm chewing this one! I'm chewing so hard.
Anyway, yeah, Unsouled is done. It's finished. It's in editing now, and I'm going to put it up for sale on Amazon as soon as it's ready to go, I expect in just a few weeks. I'll announce a specific date as soon as I can, but it won't be long.
Until then...enjoy the preview for those of you who were on the mailing list! Everyone else, please admire the beautiful cover!
P.S. I've heard from several people who were signed up for the mailing list but haven't been getting the stories, and I finally figured out what to do! Some email providers, most notably Gmail, often move my messages into the Promotions tab or simply block it outright. So if you want to get the stories without having to email me weeping, begging, and prostrating yourself, then just add email@example.com to your Contacts! Then your email provider will know I'm not trying to sell you things, and I'm just trying to send you free stuff.
P.P.S. Well, I am trying to sell you things. But hopefully things you want to read.
"The sea was empty."
