I have just submitted the Ghostwater manuscript to Amazon.
Finally, I can comment again! Some people got comment capability back early, but now it should be working for everyone! Hooray!
And with that small interruption, the news continues!
To celebrate our fifth anniversary of House of Blades, we're now giving away some free wallpapers!
We've got them for your computer or your phone, and technically they're also available for sale as posters if you literally want them to paper your wall at home. Or you can just take the thing that's free.
(By the way, Ghostwater is ready for upload, and I'll be sending it to Amazon tomorrow night. When tomorrow night? That depends...)
It's my name on all the books, but there's a team of people who make sure they happen. Without help, I'd still be working on House of Blades from my nest under a bridge.
These are the people who help me set my schedule and stick to it. They're the ones who make sure the books get written, and handle the aspects of business I suck at (which is basically everything but writing the books and responding to you guys).
Recently, we had our first long-term strategy meeting where we hammered out our objectives as Hidden Gnome Publishing...a name I made up five years ago so I could fill in the "publisher" blank on House of Blades. Slowly, Hidden Gnome has become a real thing! Sort of!
In this meeting, we decided on the June 1st release date for Ghostwater, and we set my schedule for the remainder of 2018 into 2019. Since then, it's this group of people that has used their pitchforks to keep me sticking to that schedule. There are even more people involved in the books than are pictured here; it's hard to list everyone.
So when I say "we" decided something, or when it looks like I actually planned something in advance, you can thank Hidden Gnome!
EDIT: If you're having trouble posting comments today, so am I. Apparently a lot of Weebly websites lost comment capability yesterday, including this one. Hoping for a fix soon!
Sure, it's House of Blades' birthday, but it's also Ghostwater's. So on June 1st, the Cradle: Foundations bundle will also be available for free!
Cradle: Foundations includes Unsouled, Soulsmith, and Blackflame in ebook form. Never heard of these books? Read them on Kindle Unlimited but want to own a copy? Then pick them up on June 1st for free!
And the news keeps coming! More news coming soon!
Now through Friday, the Unsouled ebook is free on Amazon!
I don't know if this counts as news, but it's definitely true! If you're on the fence about Cradle and yet are still reading this blog for some reason, you can download Unsouled free right now!
P.S. I know it's free on Amazon.com and it's supposed to be free on Amazon.co.uk and all other domains, but there have been problems in that regard before that I can't do much about.
The news doesn't stop! At last, I can finally provide the product that people request more than anything (other than the next book): Traveler's Gate T-shirts!
Available now, in these colors and in many others!
For the day of June 1st only, the whole Traveler's Gate Trilogy collection will be free on Amazon.com!
I wanted to do something cool for the five-year anniversary of House of Blades, but I wanted to do something that was actually cool. Not, like, "To celebrate this event, here's 5% off your next purchase (excluding sales items)!"
But giveaways can be a little hard, because I have to ship any physical items with my own two hands. So let's give the ebook away!
I know that for most of you (and for me!), the real prize is that Ghostwater is coming out on June 1st. But hey, if you were on the fence about Traveler's Gate before now, you can give it a shot on its fifth birthday! And if you read the books on Kindle Unlimited but want to keep them forever, pick up the complete bundle on June 1st!
Why not? It's free!
That's not all! Further news coming soon!
I'm excited and relieved that I can finally announce the release date for the fifth book in the Cradle series, Ghostwater: it's coming June 1st!
That's a little more than two weeks away. Never let it be said I don't give you adequate warning.
Now, I know I owe you Elder Empire people an explanation. Fortunately, it's pretty simple: I did a bunch of work on Ghostwater about eight months ago, shortly after finishing Skysworn, and then kept it secret. I was planning on completing Kings / Killers by June 1st and thus hitting the five-year anniversary, but I...didn't. There's a lot of story there. On the bright side, at least those books will probably be longer than usual.
After releasing OKAK on June 1st, I was going to surprise everyone by having Cradle up only a few weeks later! Bam, it's like a magic trick!
Except I didn't finish OKAK, and I still want to release something on the five-year mark. Fortunately, I have something ready to go!
This is the big news, but it isn't the only news. Brace yourselves for more in just a couple of days!
