Wrapped Up The Commander

9/30/2026

I finally finished it! The Commander, book five of The Last Horizon, is coming out in December!

(Pre-order and cover reveal coming soon!)

I do hope you enjoy it. I've been very nervous about how readers might respond to my fourteen consecutive chapters on a detailed description of saddlemaking, or the multiple romantic soliloquies written in iambic pentameter.

Please do remember that the first, third, and twenty-sixth chapters are meant to be sung aloud, and audiobook listeners get five secret extra chapters that entirely change the context of the story. Paperback readers get one chapter entirely handwritten by me, and ebook readers get my favorite carbonara recipe.

Please choose your favorite bonus, but do remember that each handwritten chapter is unique and entirely improvised, so it probably won't make any sense.

Hopefully it is recipe for roadkill and salvaged trash. Old recipes are starting to feel old.

Oh, wonderful! I've always wanted to know how to make saddles!

Seriously though, I'm SO excited for this book! ALSO, "Varic was disintegrated instantly"!?

REALLY hoping that is one of the spoilers; the last one was "thats it, you're getting cursed"

What are the chances that Doomsday and the Commander are both coming out in December.

I really want the audiobook to contain a portion that is being sung. It is possible to do it correctly, Jeff Hayes has done it. Would love to have Travis Baldree to sing in the voice of Dross, Yerin and Eithan

Travis Baldree sings a little in his own book Legends and Lattes!

Hmmm, the carbonara probably has oreos in it. That sounds awful.

Awesome. After the first book of Last Horizon was published before the last book of Cradle, figured I would wait for the end of Last Horizon before starting on a new series to avoid getting hooked and having to wait for a long time.

I've heard Will is going to Nexus, will the paperback version be available by then? If not, is it available for preorder?

In which we ramble on.
And by we, I mean me.
