Since I’ve been working on The Pilot, we’ve had most of our beta reader team read at least one draft, so I thought you might be interested in hearing what they thought!
Anonymously, of course. I wouldn’t want to embarrass them. ~~~ “It was a bold choice writing this entire book without Varic and making the whole thing a flashback to Omega’s past instead, but it paid off.” ~~~ ”My favorite scene was probably the six-page instructions on how to craft and polish your own cabinets. Really made me feel immersed in the space fantasy universe.” ~~~ ”Too much Lemon.” ~~~ ”It’s about time! You’ve finally taken my advice and replaced the Bloopers with a PSA for a rare medical condition. Engorged Face Syndrome doesn’t get the attention it deserves.” ~~~ ”You broke the rules, Will. You failed to repost my review to all your social media accounts, so you will suffer my curse. Now you are doomed to wander The Halls until you defeat Gathmat, Duke of Rotting Things.” ~~~ ”This book tastes disgusting.” ~~~ ”This science fantasy action-adventure novel is okay, but you’re really missing your calling as a writer of Victorian era teen romance vampire murder mysteries.”

Joking aside, I’d love an Omega prequel.

I was ready to believe these until "Too Much Lemon", that obviously can't be true

Was the PSA for a rare medical disorder a dig at Brent Weeks? If so, I'm totally on board with that!

Much agreed. Loved the books, hated the subplot and subsequent PSA

Went into this post thinking “I mean, it’s Apr 1” but still clicked on it as fast as possible. Can’t wait for your upcoming Victorian era teen romance vampire murder mystery!

Don’t worry Will, Gathmat is pretty easy to beat. All you gotta do is stack 4 pots outside the East wall of his arena, then lob a molatov(you can use an arrow or javelin if your aim is really good) over the wall to aggro him. The invisible floor on the east side doesn’t manifest until you enter, so Gathmat will fall down 3 levels into a spike pit. This kills him 90% of the time, but if it doesn’t just toss a few rocks down after him to finish the fight.

I wouldn’t joke about giving us a prequel or a vampire romance. We may end up asking for it until you give! Another author I follow joked about writing one of their villains into an arranged marriage romance and their fandom made such a fuss about it that they ended up writing it. That book is great actually and they’re writing book 2 for that now. April fools can be a gift! (To the fandom and extra work for you.)

While I enjoyed the in depth analysis of cartography and the issues facing authors who use poor maps in their fiction; 383,389 words on the subject was a bit much.

There is no way there’s too much lemon. Impossible.
